From Surviving to Thriving!

Francis New Bakery Business will lift her from mere existence to relative prosperity

Your gifts of support continue to change lives! We are pleased to present our newest business owner, Francis. Although she is a hard working mom (son Israel, Jr., 3 years old, in photo) with a supportive working husband, lack of opportunity and access to capital in Honduras has left them on the jagged edge of poverty for years. Francis, a skilled baker, is active in her church and community, and has developed a solid customer base through her church and neighborhood contacts. She was recommended for funding by her pastor.

The $1,500. CareLink micro loan will enable Francis to purchase a commercial oven and a refrigerated display case for her offerings. She has already established a small retail space near the busy downtown Tegucigalpa area. Francis will bake simple daily staples for the area’s poor, but will also display her higher-end cakes and cupcakes that are popular with Tegucigalpa’s working-class professionals that will walk by her busy shop daily.

Your gifts of support has provided Francis and her family with hope! Profits from her business will lift them up from extreme poverty, provide an education and a future for her son, and secure them with a sustainable income. Microfinance is a powerful force for good in the developing world.

Thank you for your support!

We still have several potential businesses in our pipeline that are ready for funding. Want to make an investment that will last for generations?
